
SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 44

Helmick, Fanning, Edgell, Minard, Sharpe, Ross, Mitchell, Love,
Hunter, Rowe, Caldwell, Oliverio, McKenzie, Facemyer, Redd,
Burnette, Boley, Deem, Minear, Sprouse, Kessler, Anderson, Wooton
and Tomblin, Mr. President)
Recognizing West Virginia teachers who have obtained certification
from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.

Whereas, Certification from the National Board for
Professional Teaching Standards is nationally recognized as a means
by which teachers may enhance their professional skills and,
subsequently, improve the education of their students; and

Whereas, The purpose of national teacher certification is to
raise standards for teachers; and

Whereas, There are 23 West Virginia teachers who made the
commitments necessary to obtain certification from the National
Board for Professional Teaching Standards. These educators are to
be commended for their dedication and commitment to the enhancement
of their educational skills; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate hereby recognizes those teachers who have met
the standards and have the qualities and the commitment necessary to obtain National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
certification for the enhancement of their educational skills; and,
be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to each of the West Virginia teachers who
have obtained certification from the National Board of Professional
Teaching Standards.
